Range 射程
Range is a value that defines the dimensions or reach of a spell or attribute, such as a basic attack, ability, summoner spell, or item effect, and mechanics such as player radius.

Game-distance is measured in an arbitrary and explicit quantity of "units". One "unit" means one point of game-distance traveled. This unit quantity is also used to derive speed, meaning movement speed and missile speed (measured in units per second) and missile acceleration (measured in units per second2) in the game.

monsters, etc.) have varying and non-negligible sizes, and for game variety reasons, spells' reach may be calculated in one of three different ways:

For champion-on-champion gameplay, an edge range of e.g. 550 units is equivalent to a centered range of 680 units, since most champions have a gameplay radius of 65 units.

Melee champions usually have a basic attack range of 125–325 units, while
ranged champions usually have a range of 350–650 units.

As of V25.05, while his is , and , are tied for the highest base basic attack range at level 1, 650 units. The highest possible basic attack range is held by , whose passive, , allows it to scale indefinitely.

Size modifier interactions[edit | edit source]

Centered range spells are not affected by the source's nor the target's size. Edge range spells however will see an increase or decrease in reach based on the champions' current size: if an enemy is bigger, it will be easier for an edge range spell, meaning one that only requires registering the edge of their hitbox, to reach/hit them.
