Thanks for the detailed response! probably that explains my body behavior even though I haven’t hit 50. Weight is stable as long as I keep eating veggies/eggs and IF and carbs in weekends (difficult to contain myself). As soon as I ate carbs for say a week (like it happened when we went on vacation), my weight shot up by 10lb, and now body is refusing to lose weight. Basic weight training at home would help?

When I start reaching the 190 range I go back to 1500 until I’m down to 170ish again. It’s probably not an ideal way to maintain weight, but it works for me. I don’t have to worry about kids or a spouse, and I work from home, so I could control what I ate to a much more regimented degree than I otherwise would have been able to. That said, it probably took nearly a dozen ‘false starts’ before I finally managed to gain the motivation to see it through.
