日々映画を作っていく中で忙殺され、失われていく大切なはずの記憶の数々。本連載は映画監督藤井道人が映画や人、言葉、その瞬間を保管しておくための企画である。「生きていく上で忘れてしまうだろう記憶たちの集積場」をテーマに、様々な出会いを通して、映画が作られていく過程や、映画業界の改善に向かっている様を伝えていく「けむりのまち -Fake town-」。
Amidst the daily hustle of filmmaking, countless precious memories that should be cherished are being lost. This series is filmmaker Fujii Michihito's project to preserve films, people, words, and fleeting moments. Titled "Fake Town," it serves as "a repository for memories that would otherwise be forgotten in the journey of life," documenting the filmmaking process and the evolving state of the film industry through various encounters.

最近は、撮影、撮影、撮影！！の毎日です。今も東北に向かう車の中でこの文章を書いています。
Lately, it's been nothing but shooting, shooting, shooting!! I'm writing this in the car on my way to Tohoku right now.
前回書いたかも知れませんが、本作は藤井映画史上一番年齢層が低い作品で、キャストもスタッフも四十代以上の方が少なく、二十代、三十代が中心となって撮影に挑んでいます。若い俳優部と仕事することは珍しいのですが、本作に出てくれている若き俳優部の集中力や、敬意、プロ意識には本当に刺激を受ける毎日です。
I might have mentioned this before, but this film has the youngest cast and crew in the history of my filmography, with very few people over forty—most are in their twenties and thirties. Working with young actors is rare for me, but every day I'm truly inspired by their focus, respect, and professionalism on set.
必死に作品に食らいついてきてくれる彼らの背中に、僕も学ぶことが多く、この映画がくれた出会いに心から感謝をしています。
I’ve learned so much from watching them pour their hearts into this project, and I’m deeply grateful for the encounters this film has brought me.
『諦める』ことを息を吸うようにする大人たちが山ほどいる社会だからこそ、悪い水に濁らず、素晴らしい映画人になって行って欲しいです。
In a society where so many adults have made "giving up" as natural as breathing, I hope they stay untainted by cynicism and grow into incredible filmmakers.

映画の撮影も折り返し、プロデュース作品のクランクインや、次回作の準備と、色々な人にお尻を蹴り上げられている日々ですが、過度のストレスは無く、精神は健康に過ごしています。
We've passed the halfway point in filming, with a produced work starting production and preparations for the next project underway—it's been days of getting kicked into gear by various people, but without excessive stress, and my mental health remains sound.
健康と言えば、人間ドックに行きました。例年通り肝臓は『D』判定で少し凹みましたが、肺は『A』でした！！
Speaking of health, I went for my annual physical. As usual, my liver scored a 'D' which was a bit disappointing, but my lungs got an 'A'!!
とはいえ、最近、お世話になった若き先輩の訃報もあり、自分も体調にはより一層気をつけたいなと思いました。
That said, with the recent passing of a young mentor who had been very kind to me, I've become even more determined to take better care of my own health.
どうでもいい話ですが、アカデミー賞以来、人前に出ることがしばらくないので、髪を二十代ぶりに染めたんです。でも、あまりにも似合わずその帰り道にドン・キホーテで黒染めを買いました。しゃしゃんな！！って神様が言ってるんだなと思いました。
Just a trivial story, but since I haven't been out in public much since the Academy Awards, I dyed my hair for the first time in twenty years. It looked so terrible that on my way home I bought black hair dye at Don Quijote. I felt like God was telling me "Know your place!!"
最近面白かった映像作品。 Recently watched interesting visual works.
『ザ・スタジオ』 これは、もうぶっちぎりで面白かったです。この話で朝まで話せます。ラストシーン、最高！！
'The Studio' was absolutely hilarious, no contest. I could talk about this story all night. That final scene was the best!!
『スンブ 二人の棋士』 イビョンホンとユアインの静の芝居が素晴らしかったです。
'Sumb: Two Chess Players' - The quiet performances by Byunghun Lee and Ah-in Yoo were magnificent.
『ナインパズル』これはまだ見始めたばかりですが、ソンソックが綾野剛さんにしか見えない笑。結構面白いです。
'Nine Puzzle' - I just started watching this, but Song Seok keeps reminding me of Ayano Gou-san lol. It's pretty interesting though.
6月は『でっちあげ』『フロントライン』『国宝』と邦画が本気出して来てる感じしますね。楽しみ。映画館に行くのが楽しみです。
June feels like Japanese cinema is really bringing its A-game with 'Fabrication', 'Frontline', and 'National Treasure'. Can't wait. I'm really looking forward to going to the movies.
