Stealth refers to various positive effects that temporarily conceal a unit from enemies' sight regardless of the Fog of War. Stealth is divided into three categories:
Camouflage,
Invisibility and
Stealthed traps. Camouflage conceals units only while no enemy
champion is within the detection radius.

Stealth can be interrupted by the user via certain actions, most commonly casting an attack or ability. A stealthed unit can also be directly revealed by enemy effects that grant
true sight.

Stealth should not be confused with
vanish, an effect that removes a unit's model and does not interact with the mechanics described here.

Camouflage is a form of stealth that renders a unit hidden from enemy
vision for a long period of time.

- Camouflaged units become visible while an enemy
champion is inside their detection radius and they are within said enemy's line of sight (e.g. camouflaged unit is not already hidden by being inside a

True Sight.

Invisibility is a form of stealth that renders a unit hidden from enemy
vision for a short period of time.

The
obscured vision granted by
Sweeper Drone is the most commonly accessible form of detecting stealthed
champions without revealing them and rendering them targetable. The Drone will expose the detected units' silhouette at regular intervals.

Auto-targeted effects that do not require sight to cast will show whether or not they can cast when an enemy is nearby (by lighting up in the HUD) even if the target in range is not visible.

Direction-targeted abilities (skill-shots) can still hit stealthed enemies, but they will not grant
sight of them unless the ability has a stealth-revealing effect. The
projectile may play visual and audio cues (e.g. splatter / blood eruption upon impact) which indicate if a stealthed unit is hit and may provide enough knowledge of their whereabouts. Particular cases of skill-shots that do not reveal units but play prominent effects are cage VFX and thorn VFX which show on enemy units' location even if the hit units themselves cannot be seen.

Stealth is lost immediately when starting or completing the attack windup of a basic attack or upon casting an ability, unless otherwise stated. Using consumables or trinkets does not break stealth. Summoner spells and item actives vary. Casting will always break stealth.
