Based on a review of the reason for requesting an amendment to the above EA, this Department, in terms of Chapter 5 of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Regulations, 2014, as amended, has decided to amend the EA dated 08 December 2021 as follows:

Reason for amendment:  修改理由:

The reason for this amendment is that the EA does not reflect what was provided and assessed in the Environmental Impact Assessment Raport submitted for decision making. As such, the applicant is requesting an amendment to the project description in the EA to align it with what was provided for in the Environmental Impact Assessment Report.

Reason for amendments  修改原因

The reason for this amendment is that the Bat Specialist Report undertook a year of pre-construction monlioring on top of a detailed impact assessment. Based on this in-depth site-specific study, the specialist recommended that certain features and associated buffers were to be no-go areas for turbine placement to ensure that the turbines would be situated far enough away from these features. These nogo areas were complied with in the layout that was assessed in the EIA process. The bat specialist found the turbine locations to be acceptable in his assessment of the project and as noted no turbines were located within the identified bat nogo areas.

Reason for amendment:  修改理由:

The reason for this amendment is that the bird speciallst recommended that a bird perch should be added to the overhead powerlines within the wind farm sits to enable the perching of birds on the pole. This condition would therefore go against the recommendations of the specialist. With regards to bats, it is understood that this condtion is aimed at trying to prevent bats from roosting in buildings that are constructed as part of the wind farm. The proposed new wording achieves this.
