Building the adaptor:

D4 end: connector will be a DE9 female, 4 wires on pins 1,2,3, and 4.

Pendant end: connector will be DE9 female, 2 resistor at 10K, and 2 small wires about 50 cm black and blue, and some shrink tube to protect pins.

Reset D4 bios:

power off D4, then with a keyboard and monitor hooked up turn power on and press the delete button to get to bios. Using the arrow keys sideways to “advanced”. Then go down to S10 FPGA G639.

Arrow down to serial port c “mode”, press enter and a drop down menu will have choices arrow to “422”. (I am not sure but you may need to switch port A to 232)

With this set press Esc to get back to menu choices go the exit/save and save.

Hook up long wires to power the pendant:

Hook up black to pin 5 or 7, hook up blue to pin 11 or 13.

Now plug D4 end of adaptor to port 3 on back of D4 and then plug pendant to the other end.

With the adaptor and cable hooked up power on the D4. Go to the operator’s computer and start up dyno tools. Click on “advanced”. Edit sysvars, and type in pendant serial port. And click “start”. Switch this to “3” and Save SVs.
使用适配器和电缆连接 D4 电源。前往操作员电脑并启动测功机工具。点击“高级”。编辑系统变量,并输入挂载串口。然后点击“启动”。将“3”切换到“保存变量”。
With all this saved cycle power and the pendant should come alive when the program is fully loaded.
