Welcome to Digital Narrative We have our first classes this and I hope you've had an opportunity to look through the Course Canvas Shell already. Take note of any questions you might have, and we can discuss them in class. We don't do any direct software training in this course, and we'll be running our classes in a room without computers. However, from Week 2 onwards you'll need to bring a device, laptop, tablet, or phone that will allow you to access and work on shared text-based documents during class time. We're looking forward to meeting you and hope you'll find this course interesting and rewarding. Regards Murray

There are four Digital Narrative class groups (cohorts) in Semester 2 2025:

Course Description: In this course, you will explore the design of narrative structures for digital media, and ways in which these are used to create, explain and communicate human experiences and perspectives.
课程描述:本课程将探讨数字媒体叙事结构的设计,以及如何运用这些结构来创造、阐释和传递人类经验与观点。

Class Activities: In-class hour’s will address topics via a range of activities including lectures, class exercises and discussions. You will also have one-on-one face-to-face meetings with your lecturer to discuss and review your project.
课堂活动:课内时间将通过多种形式探讨主题,包括讲座、课堂练习和讨论环节。你还将与导师进行一对一面对面会议,共同讨论和审阅你的项目进展。

Homework Activities: Additional to developing project concepts and content, you'll need to develop the required software skills & techniques. Depending on the kind of Digital Narrative project you choose, (e.g. V.R., App, Website or Video) you'll need to set aside time to learn the software and technical skills required of your particular project.
课后任务:除开发项目概念与内容外,你还需要掌握必要的软件技能与技巧。根据所选数字叙事项目的类型(如虚拟现实、应用程序、网站或视频),你需要预留时间学习特定项目所需的软件操作与技术能力。

Getting Started: If you haven’t had a chance already, read the Project Brief & Overview (see: Canvas > Modules > Resources). This provides you with a good outline of what you need to do, when you should be doing it and why etc.

Midway Project Assignment Review + Feedback Interviews

In this class you'll be rostered to have a one-on-one meeting with your lecturer to discuss your grades and review progress on your Project work.

Wks 10+11  第 10+11 周

Across week 10 and 11 we'll have an open studio. Your lecturer will be in-class and available to students for one-on-one consultations regarding their Final Project.
