在香港附近南中国海一个以硅质碎屑岩为主的“稳定”内陆大陆架上,对一个60米长的钻孔中的硅藻分布进行了研究。第四纪沉积物中发现了五次冰间期海侵的证据,可追溯至氧同位素阶段12,并鉴定出53属186种硅藻。潮间带物种和近岸浅水物种占主导地位,包括热带和亚热带的浮游和底栖种类。在钻孔顶部13.8米范围内,识别出四个反映浅水环境的硅藻带。硅藻在第11阶段缺失,而第7阶段和第9阶段与第1阶段和第5阶段相比,多样性和丰度均显著降低。这种分布模式可归因于在第2、6、8和10阶段,当大陆架暴露于空气中时,酸性硫酸盐土壤发育导致硅壳溶解所需的时间长短。硅藻的保存状况在第1阶段最佳,因为沉积物从未暴露于空气中,其次是第5阶段。 成岩后溶解作用被确定为控制前全新世沉积物中硅藻分布的重要因素。(C) 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd. 版权所有。
