Dear students,
I would like to provide more information regarding the most updated news of the Dissertation selection.
The timeline of the submission has been revised as follows:
Submission semester
Deadline for submission
Expected graduation date (provided you have fulfilled the other graduation requirements)
1st semester
December 1, 2024
July 2025
2nd semester
May 1, 2025
July 2025
Summer semester
August 1, 2025
December 2025
Besides, the selection process of the Company project and Individual project is IN PROGRESS. Students are advised to login to the DMS (Dissertation system) from time-to-time and check the most updated status.
We hope all the matching will be completed by mid-October.
Below please also find some common questions raised by the other students:
Q1: I was accepted by one of the supervisor, but I would like to change my mind now. What should I do?
A1: Changing assigned project in the middle is 100% not recommended and desirable, as this will be unfair to other students who interested in your original assigned project. Changes will be allowed only to those with strong justification.
Q2. Can I change the Dissertation project title after submission of the Project Selection Form?
A2: Yes, the ultimate deadline for confirming your Dissertation title will be the time you declare for Dissertation submission. You no need to notify us there is any changes before this ultimate deadline.

Declaration of MECH6048 Dissertation August Submission
Please be reminded that students, who will submit the dissertation reports in the Second semester, 2024-25, are required to submit the dissertation report on Moodle by August 1, 2025 (Friday). Please seek for your supervisor's consent and declare the dissertation submission and fill in the dissertation title on or before 23:59 pm on July 24, 2025 (Thursday).
Last but not least, submission declaration is final - Once confirmed, dissertation must be submitted by the deadline.

Dear MSc students,
In response to the rapidly growing high technology industry nowadays, we are pleased to announce that a series of industrial visits to Hong Kong and Shenzhen companies have been arranged for the 2024-25 academic year. For those who are required to submit one industrial/technical visit report, attending one of such visits can fulfill the requirement. Other students are also encouraged to attend the visit.
