What do I need to bring?
我需要带些什么？

For your bedroom:  对于你的卧室：

- Bedding (duvet, pillows, sheets, pillowcases)* - Towels - Toiletries - Clothes - Clothes hangers - Phone charger - Laptop/computer/games console - Laptop charger - Headphones - Pins for noticeboard - Extension cable - Stationery - Home comforts (photos, etc.)

* You get a bed, complete with mattress and mattress protector. You can buy a bedding pack for £30 at Main Reception.*

The chaplaincy offers kitchen items for new students. Email chaplaincy@hw.ac.uk (Edinburgh) or BordersHalls@hw.ac.uk (Scottish Borders).

Alternatively, kit out your kitchen before you move in. Pre order essential items with  UniKitOut and get them delivered to campus. Use HW10 for 10% off.

Payment options  付款方式

After paying your Advance Rent Payment, no more payments are needed until you enroll and arrive. More info: here.

Can my friends or family stay with me?
我的朋友或家人可以和我住在一起吗？

You must request permission from ResLife (Edinburgh) or BordersHalls (Scottish Borders) if you wish to have friends or family stay. One guest at a time, max 3 days per month. Guests can't stay if you're away. You're responsible for their behavior.
如果您希望朋友或家人留宿，必须向 ResLife（爱丁堡）或 BordersHalls（苏格兰边境）申请许可。每次仅限一位访客，每月最多停留 3 天。如果本人不在宿舍，访客不得留宿。您需对其行为负责。

Can I leave for the holidays?
我可以去度假吗？

The room is yours until the contract ends. You don't need to remove your belongings for holidays.
在合同结束之前，房间都是你的。你不需要为了度假而搬走自己的物品。

Storage  储物

You have storage in your bedroom. There is no extra storage at the university. For additional storage, try Big Yellow Self Storage.

Pets  宠物

No pets allowed in residences or academic buildings.
住宅和教学楼内禁止携带宠物。

Mail and Parcels  邮件和包裹

Letters go to your mailbox at entrance to your hall. Royal Mail parcels are handled by ResLife. You'll get an email when a parcel is ready for collection.
信件会投送到你宿舍楼入口处的信箱中。英国皇家邮政的包裹由住宿生活服务（ResLife）负责处理。当有包裹可以领取时，你会收到一封电子邮件通知。

For Scottish Borders, parcels go to the Gateway Building reception.
苏格兰边境的包裹将送往 Gateway Building 前台。

The University isn't responsible for courier deliveries.

Bicycles  自行车

No bikes in rooms or shared areas. Use bike sheds and secure with a good lock. SafeGuarding offers free bike marking. Bike Bothy Oriam offers bike hire and servicing. Contact e.oliphant@hw.ac.uk for more info.
