One of the reviewers and AE has a significant technical concern about SSPP basis of the proposed antenna. Clarification and justification of this issue is very crucial, since it is one of the main claims of the manuscript. If the authors prefer to revise and resubmit their work, it is crucial to carefully address all technical comments from the review panel.

The authors claim that the proposed antenna is based on spoof surface plasmon polaritons (SSPPs). However, this claim is fundamentally flawed. The structure utilized in the paper lacks any clear evidence of surface wave propagation or SSPP behavior. No field distribution, near-field confinement analysis, or surface-mode characteristics are presented. The so-called “SSPP feedline” is simply a microstrip line periodically loaded with open-circuited stubs, which is a well-known technique for slow-wave or filtering applications, but does not constitute SSPP in the accepted physical sense. The use of “SSPP” is misleading and scientifically inaccurate.

The proposed design is essentially a conventional quasi-Yagi antenna loaded with resonators to achieve filtering and notch bands. The integration of notch filters or resonant elements into Yagi-type antennas has been extensively studied. The concept of introducing stubs or E-shaped resonators into the feedline to generate notched bands is not new and has already been widely reported.

The proposed design is essentially a conventional quasi-Yagi antenna loaded with resonators to achieve filtering and notch bands.
