This assessment is linked to the following Course Learning Outcomes LO1. Understand the theorical underpinnings of Innovation and Entrepreneurship as academic topics. LO2. Evaluate strategic decision-making options for entrepreneurs and innovative firms by integrating multiple theoretical approaches to assess resource allocation, capability development, and organisational design choices. LO3. Analyse case studies and business scenarios to identify sources of competitive advantage, assess venture performance, and recommend strategic actions for startups and growth companies. LO4. Critically assess the limitations and applications of different theoretical approaches in and demonstrate awareness of when and how to adapt theoretical frameworks to specific situations. Task Description

You will apply your knowledge of different perspectives of entrepreneurial strategy to explain business outcomes. As part of the case analysis, you will assess resource allocation decisions, capability development options, organizational design choices, partnership strategies and the design of the business model.

You will analyse the case in teams of 4 to 5 students. You will be provided a structured worksheet to support your analysis. Each section of the worksheet is graded along with your final analysis of the case.

The assessment takes place in class in Week 11. The time allocated to analyse the case is structured as follows.

To do well in the case it is recommended that team members take on different roles. Each team member should ensure they have a strong understanding of the different theoretical perspectives as well as taking the lead in one of the following theories:

A formative case assessment will be conducted in week 5 to provide an opportunity for you to familiarise yourself with the structure of the worksheet and process for analysing the case.

Each team is provided with one worksheet to be completed in class. The worksheet is to be handed to either the course facilitator or course coordinator on completion of the task.
