1.1 Research Background  1.1
Music festivals in China, especially Strawberry Music Festival and Midi Music Festival, have become important tools for promoting local economic and cultural identity (Liu et al., 2024). For instance, the Strawberry Music Festival is the mainstream music culture, and the Midi Music Festival is a rarity in the music culture of the underground. However, the environmental and societal sustainability influence of the music festivals has been considered little, particularly in terms of resource consumption, waste, and energy consumption. Though the economic and cultural prosperity of the music industry of China is exceptional, it still encounters many challenges in the aspect of sustainable development, and most surprisingly, in the aspect of the planning and performance of pop concerts.
